Slough never stands still and the pace of change in our town
is increasing.
Changing Views
The £450million regeneration of the Heart of Slough is
partially completed with a new iconic bus station and brand
new road layout which links the bus and railway station to
the town centre and improves traffic flow. The Curve is
Slough’s brand new iconic library and cultural centre,
right in the heart of the town. The Curve houses a brand
new library, cafe, Slough Museum, performance venue,
community learning spaces, computer suites, exhibition
space and the Register Office including a purpose built
wedding room. New offices, residential accommodation,
a hotel and shops are also being planned.
Slough Urban Renewal
Slough is part of a local asset backed vehicle, known as
Slough Urban Renewal (SUR), with partner Morgan Sindall
Investments. With a potential £1billion of investment to the
borough, the partnership is already regenerating sites
across the town, bringing new housing, new leisure facilities
and new civic buildings - including the iconic Curve in the
Heart of Slough.
The partnership will be for at least 15 years and will
provide work experience places, apprenticeships and
direct employment opportunities to local people during
the first phase of development.
SUR’s first residential housing scheme in the Chalvey area of
Slough is set for completion in 2017.
